Is seating limited?
Yes, but the maximum class size varies by workshop. For example, our one-day camcorder workshops are limited to 50 students; Our one-day lighting workshops are limited to 20 students. And our one-week courses that are held at Maine Media Workshops can only accommodate 14 - 16 students.

When is the registration deadline?
While there is no set registration deadline, we encourage you to sign up early as workshops may become full. Once the capacity is met for a workshop, registration closes and we cannot "squeeze in" any additional people or add extra dates.

Will I receive a confirmation when I register?

Yes. When you register, you will receive an automated email confirmation which serves as your receipt. We will also send you updates and additional information via email as the date of the workshop approaches.

What is your refund policy if I have to cancel after I’ve registered?
We try to be as flexible as we can: Sixty (60) days prior to the workshop that you plan to attend, you may request a full refund. Thirty (30) days prior to the event you plan to attend, you may request a 50% refund. Within thirty (30) days of an event, there are no refunds available; however, you may transfer your registration to another individual.  Please note that all refunds are subject to a 5% administrative fee. *

Is lunch included in the price of the workshop?

Everyone is on their own for lunch at our one-day workshops. We purposely choose venues that have food options nearby, and of course you are free to brown-bag it if you wish. FYI, most of hotels and meeting centers do not allow outside food to be eaten within the premises. Please respect their rules. We do provide coffee, water, and soft drinks throughout the day

What are the hours of the workshop?
Our classes are intense and fast-paced with very little wasted time. Our one-day camcorder boot camps normally run from 9:00AM - 5:30PM but may go a little later.

May I videotape or make an audio recording of the workshop?
No. Video and audio taping are not allowed.

What happens if there are not enough people registered for a workshop?
In the unlikely event that a workshop does not meet our minimum requirements for participation, Vortex Media Workshops reserves the right to cancel a workshop if there are not enough registrants two weeks before the workshop begins.  If so, your tuition will be refunded in full. Vortex Media Workshops is not responsible for losses incurred on housing, travel or other arrangements.

Why do you need my email and phone number?
You will receive your confirmation by email and you will need to bring a printout of the confirmation with you to the class. And in case we need to contact you on short notice because we need to cancel or reschedule a workshop due to an emergency, inclement weather or instructor illness, having multiple ways of reaching you will hopefully lessen any inconveniences.

Cancellation Policy:
Please be advised that workshop events are subject to cancellation at any time, due to circumstances beyond our control, and without notice. While we will make every effort to contact registered attendees, advance notice will not always be possible, and therefore wa are not responsible for any expenses incurred by registered attendees due to cancellation of the workshop event.
